Project description
Some bacteria are good, but not all as some bad bacteria can even kill humans and animals. This bad bacteria can survive together against most of the drugs used to kill them by forming a protective layer termed as biofilm. Bacteria in biofilms can grow anywhere and they can spread easily. The infections caused by biofilm bacteria are very serious and not easy to treat. Not only humans, but even medical devices used in hospitals can easily get infected. This also means during operation or replacement surgeries there is a serious chance to catch infections. Many people have died and are dying. Hence, I am planning to find chemical compounds capable of inhibiting the formation of biofilm, so my compound can help to minimize or prevent the biofilm infections. If I am successful in my project, then my compound is very valuable to save the patient's life and it will contribute towards healthy world.
