Established in 1999 by the Ministry of Education, FSD provides a single point of access to a range of services: data curation, long-term preservation, access to a wide range of digital research data, and information services and support for data management during the research lifecycle. FSD has the CTS certification.
The C-BoTS project prepares FSD for actualisation of open science principles in research practice in the Finnish Academia and the extending demand for data services this cultural change will bring with it. The project will offer virtual tools and services and datasets that cross boundaries in several different levels. It bridges over to national and international infrastructures (e.g. Finnish FAIRdata entity, national nodes of SSH ERICs, CESSDA, NOSC, EOSC); multiple languages; and disciplines beyond SSH. FSD’s commitment to responsibly FAIR openness supports sustainable societal renewal. The project is in line with FSD’s proposal on the current national Roadmap of RIs.
