In the project biomaterial based piezoelectric composite materials and their exploitation in sensors and energy harvesters will be researched and developed. In the research, different types of functional gradients in biomaterials will be realised and their impact for mechanical, electrical and electromechanical properties will be measured, analysed and modelled.
Aim of the project is to realise new integratable functional sensor materials which tolerate large strains and stresses which has wide utilisation possibilities in e.g. wearable electronics. The reseach will be conducted in co-operation between University of Oulu and Linköping University (Sweden) including international research exchange.
