Beskrivning av projektet
The project investigates the experiential formation of the self/other boundary from philosophical-conceptual, phenomenological, empirical, and artistic viewpoints. It challenges the dominant understanding which awards cognition a fundamental position in human self-experience and accordingly underlines the factual, objective psychophysical boundaries of individuals. The project demonstrates that the experience of interaction is a matter of navigating between various levels of self/other demarcation. The project argues for the fundamental role of affectivity in self/other demarcation and thus questions the dominant cognitivist view. By distinguishing different forms of experiential demarcation and examining their interrelations, and by investigating the affective formation of the self/other boundary, the project makes a significant contribution to debates on the embodied and affective foundations of everyday interaction.
