Project description
The project considers imaging at extremely low energy levels, including extremely low light, extremely fast exposure, or extremely low radiation dose. The project aims at developing computational models and image-enhancement methods that are usable at a several orders of magnitude lower energy than what is currently feasible. Rather than ad-hoc solutions for each application, we intend to deliver general-purpose algorithms that scientists from different fields can reliably use in their image reconstruction pipelines. The project will enable new modalities and allow imaging of transient or weak phenomena that are currently out of reach due to the overwhelming noise levels inherent to low-energy acquisition.
