WebFOCUS Report
Project description
This research consortium explores how recently arrived migrants and long-term residents perform and narrate belonging in physical, social and virtual spaces through the arts, and how these performances and narratives are embedded in wider cultural and political contexts and social structures. Research data will be generated through linguistic and online ethnography, participatory arts-based research and reception studies. The data consist of audio and video recordings of interactions and interviews, field notes, photos, social media messages and website texts. Co-produced outputs include a photo-exhibition, an installation, a theatre performance and video stories. The expected scientific impact of the research lies in advancing theories of belonging in migration contexts. The project findings will be used in critical re-assessment of migration and integration policies and practices.
