There has been tremendous progress in the field of two-dimensional materials throughout the value chain: synthesis, characterization, device fabrication and, finally, applications. The next hot topic in this field is the development of bottom-up synthesis strategies for atomically precise nanomaterials: molecular scale building blocks connecting together through chemical bonds to form nanostructures, where the position of every atom can be controlled. Practically applications of these fascinating new materials require that their are transferred onto device structures. This proposal aims to solve the transfer-problem to enable the realization of technological ideas based on atomically precise nanostructures, such as transistors on flexible substrates, optical sensors and plasmonic devices.
