Beskrivning av projektet
The purpose of the project was to develop a trauma treatment model for unaccompanied minors. During the pilot study, the first phase of preventative and stabilizing psychological support was provided in the group- and family group homes for unaccompanied minors. The second phase of focused trauma therapy was offered to those young people who clearly need more focused trauma treatment. Implementation of the study: Based on the pilot study, a model training will be organized in cooperation with Migri and the ELY Center starting in January 2019. In connection with the training, all sub-units in Finland will receive a project workbook on the trauma management model. This workbook and training describe in detail how the units can independently arrange stabilizing treatment for their clients and how they can get help for the most traumatized adolescents. The project contributes to the right of young asylum seekers to obtain access to tailored health care services.
