Recent major investments in quantum technology will create in the future a fertile industrial ecosystem. Thus inventions such as the one presented in this proposal have great potential for societal and economic impact. Namely, we aim to promote the utilization of the quantum circuit refrigerator (QCR) discovered in our European Research Council (ERC) Starting Grant. We have been able to increase the dissipation in high-quality resonators by orders of magnitude by applying an operation voltage to the refrigerator. We change the voltage in nanosecond timescales, which shows that we are able to turn the refrigerator on and off very quickly. We have also fabricated long-lived superconducting qubits which we aim to initialize accurately using the QCR. Subsequently, the QCR can be adopted in the industrial processes aiming for the realization of large-scale quantum computing. We have visited several quantum computer companies and presented this new technology.
