Project description
CARE is an assistive healthcare platform developed by the Center for Ubiquitous Computing at the University of Oulu. The platform consists of an innovative sensor infrastructure that collects contextual data from nursing environments using the AWARE framework for data collection and off-the-shelf sensors that monitor motion and proximity to others, to help reduce the workload in elderly care practice. By applying state of the art machine learning algorithms, the collected data is converted into understandable information for nurses to use in the daily care service and presented in a mobile/tablet Android application. With CARE, nurses can quickly retrieve residents' information, family and medication records, thus facilitating their workload in elderly care. Doctors can use CARE to follow-up on previous observations and notes from nurses. Families can use CARE to stay informed.
