In this project we use magnetic droplets as analytical probes for novel applications.
We are developing a new process to extract antibodies from their growth media, using oil based ferro-fluid and hydrophobin fusion protein.
We are developing a simple and affordable method for measuring interfacial tension between two immiscible liquids, based on splitting of magnetic droplets. Preliminary results show that we can measure interfacial tension lower than most common conventional methods.
Furthermore, we are creating a technique using the small magnetic droplets to probe the viscosity of the surrounding fluid in a novel manner.
