Cardiac beat to beat variability analysis from remote videos for health service (CAVA)
Heart Rate (HR) is an important vital sign and has applications in many fields including medical diagnostics and daily health monitoring. Remote non-intrusive HRV measurement is an attractive topic for both commercial and academic purposes.
The objective of this multidisciplinary research is to collect the face video and the ground truth heart rate data from both healthy people and patients, investigate the reliable remote heart beat measure method for valuable HRV analysis and build the prototype system for cardiac disorder screening, which is expected to be utilized at home or in health care centers. It will be the first attempt for studying and utilizing the remote HRV analysis toward cardiac disorder screening.
This research is planned to be carried out during the period 01.10.2016-30.09.2018 in University of Oulu. There are three researchers participating in this project.
