ILMA pilot project aims at increasing the societal impact of satellite-based atmospheric observations for air quality monitoring. This is achieved using satellite-based air quality observations derived from the Dutch-Finnish OMI and recently TROPOMI instruments. The project aims at promoting the use of satellite data in different sector of society and support the interaction with different users (authorities, citizens, private sector). The implementation of the research was carried on via pilot projects.
The outcomes of the project include: developing improved and financially sustainable air quality services based on satellite observations; increased application of satellite-based observation for supporting companies in their environmental responsibility actions; renewing science by applying space-based observations as indicator of corporate responsibility for socio-economic studies; stimulating new business ideas; building new collaborative network and methodology of interaction.
