Project description
This project tackles this issue and aims at building a general framework that guarantees security for the 5G and IoT already from the physical layer. We propose a groundbreaking framework that will define new concepts of network secrecy that account for larger number of users subject to stringent reliability and latency constraints. This proposal aim to investigate how increasing number of devices and such strict latency and reliability constraints affects security of MTC networks, and what lightweight PHY security solutions are relevant to MTC networks. These research questions are fundamental to understand the trade-offs among security, reliability, latency, throughput and number of users in the design of MTC networks. This framework will indicate the theoretical limits of wireless network security, and provide new algorithms and protocols that will serve as guidelines for designing smart and secure 5G and IoT networks, having impact in both academic community and society as whole.
