Project description
The work provides new scientific results on general interference management between network nodes that have limited capability to exchange control information. Dynamic multidimensional radio resource management across time, frequency, space and location is investigated in heterogenous networks. The project explores theoretical limits and provides solutions for decentralised and coordinated multi-antenna transceiver design and resource allocation across distributed network nodes with different system optimisation objectives and constraints. A cross-layer optimisation approach is taken where all the variables and constraints are incorporated into a unified mathematical optimisation framework. Furthermore, optimisation decomposition theory is harnessed to provide fast converging distributed solutions that require minimal information exchange between network nodes. Significant increase is expected by facilitating coordination across hierarchical distributed network nodes.
