The functions of living cells are underpinned by proteins that, due to their diversity, are involved in almost all cellular events. Proteins are able to interact with each other and create pathways and networks that may be of critical importance in many diseases. Sometimes, one protein can have a variety of activities that enable it to participate in different cellular processes. An example of such a protein is myosin 1C, a member of the protein family, which controls cell movements. By contrast with its protein relatives, myosin 1C is also found in cell nucleus. Our research focuses on finding myosin 1C interactions in the nucleus, which can help to better understand its functions.
