Project description
Researchers at University of Jyväskylä, University of Tampere and Technical University of Tampere, have, in collaboration, developed new methods to produce the smallest possible devices for optics and electronics using DNA molecules, small spherical gold nanoparticles and carbon nanotubes. These devices can further advance the development of faster processors and more sensitive detectors. The advantage compared to other methods is, in the case of electronic devices, the scalability for mass-production, and for the optical devices, the tunable properties for detection of miniscule amount of e.g. harmful micro-organisms.
